Brief followup during Election 2019

Of course, my full shpiel on the election is here. But a couple of points in brief for those on the right who are afraid to not vote Likud, or not vote Moshe Feiglin for coalition politics reasons. First, for those on the right, the choice between the United Right, and Zehut. Normally, we vote for the United Right, but I have to say this time it ought to be different. The United Right is now composed of two sets of people broadly… as it is a union of Bennett’s old party (basically the old NRP, Mafdal), and the Tekuma and Otzma people. The former are people that are excellent decent people, but are quite mainstream in their politics (meaning not quite right wing). Certainly in favor of the business as usual socialism and very Likudnik in their position on land (say you want to give it away but try not to). These are not folks we would usually vote for when thinking of the free market conservative right wing. The second wing of the list, is made up of more truly right wing characters. Israel Choses its Fate Today – 2015

(For a review of the parties and chart during the 2013 Election See here) Israel, today we vote… since we give a vote to a people at war with us and bent on our destruction (and in turn are called an apartheid state), the left has about a 22% advantage due the Arab vote. For the “right” to win in Israel, it does not need a majority of Jews to vote for it, it needs an overwhelming majority in order to overcome the near quarter population block that votes along with the Jewish left for the destruction of Israel… With Hamas on one border, ISIS nearing the gates on the other, instability all around, Jihadists (with western support) overturning stable and moderate Arab regimes, a US President openly disdainful of the single Jewish state in the world, and Muslim demographic overrunning much of the world making more and more countries unsafe for non muslims… any Israeli who votes left… deserves the fate that he is voting for. Please Remember, there is no choice between war and peace. There is a choice between dignity, justice and strength, and surrender, weakness and appeasement. Election Results and Coalition Building

The polls have just closed nationwide in Israel and now the race for results and the winning coalition begin. The last polls showed the Likud-Lieberman coalition obtaining about 34 seats, The Jewish Home 14 seats Shas 11 Yesh Atid 11 UTJ 6 Labor 17 Livni 7 These are the last poll results available a few days back for the major parties. It is interesting to note that Likud-Beiteinu camp actually loses a significant amount of seats compared to what they currently have. I warned about this phenomena as soon as the merger was announced… a large part of Lieberman’s Russian supporters will not vote or know to vote for a Likud ticket. This has been made worse by the fact Avigdor Lieberman has been quiet in the last period due to the indictment against him. However, I also think polling may be under-estimating the Russian vote towards Likud due to polling difficulties. In any event, I believe that it will be Yesh Atid that will do better than expected as that is the trend being observed. I hope the bulk of those voters are not otherwise Likud voters but that Lapid manages to take voters away from the leftist camp. [...]
