Did Bibi Pull a Fast One?

Most of what needed to be explained about the situation in Gaza, was articulately put previously…. But here as the danger of Bibi accepting a shameful ceasefire loomed – even worse a French-Qatari Ceasefire (is there any worse kind), it seems at the 11th hour, Bibi declared the negotiations failed, and it just may be the beginning of the real operations! I certainly hope so, and hope the enemy was caught off guard. As of writing, no news agency that I can find is reporting any operations underway, though I have a feeling they just may be. There are also reports of US warships approaching Israel, something interesting is going on… Are they here simply to evacuate US citizens? In case of regional escalation? To check Iran’s, Hezbollah’s and Syria’s (and Turkey’s) possible response? Just in case? A pre-arranged plan that includes taking out Iran’s nuclear program? Or did Obama actually send these to threaten Israel or perhaps attempt to break the Gaza blockade in collusion with Egypt’s Morsi? I would like to think the latter one is impossible, even for a President and un-American and hostile to Israel as Obama is. We shall soon find out…

The Danger of “Peace”

At outset of Operation Pillar of Defense, here at the Lighthouse we voiced our support for the IDF’s operation and highlighted the dangers and opportunities present in the new realities of the region, brought on by a weak and misguided Western World. Chief among these changes was that a group almost indistinguishable from Hamas (they have a rather intertwined history), is actually in control of Egypt. The first article’s headline, –Gilad Shalit and many more Avenged today – Egypt is Not the Same was repeated nearly verbatim a few days later by Egypt’s new Islamist President Mohammed Morsi: Cairo would not leave Gaza alone as I tell them on behalf of the Egyptian people that Egypt today is different from Egypt yesterday and Arabs today are different from the Arabs yesterday. He went on to say that: if I see that the homeland is in danger, I won’t hesitate. Earlier on Friday he was quoted as: Gaza will not remain alone as it was…the aggressors know they will pay a heavy price is they continue their aggression. Tel-Aviv has been hit – It’s on Now

You may bomb Sderot, Ashkelon and Beer Sheba in the South freely, you may bomb Haifa in the North all you want, and still Israel will usually respond with no more than the ironic “We will not tolerate (yet we are tolerating) ..” But if you bomb Tel-Aviv, home of Israel’s left and ruling elite who are all too willing to give away the rest of the tiny nation as long as they are left alone, then you invoke a massive response. Just Yesterday, I warned about the growing confidence of Hamas controlled Gaza with a supportive Egypt under the Muslim Brotherhood. Today, the seriousness of my warning was shown with an Egyptian ambassador recalled and Hamas launching Iranian missiles at Tel-Aviv. We must keep in mind, that while they have dared to go further than before, note that they also show their overall inability and weakness. With all the rage in the world, and one of its leaders dead, all Hamas can do alone is lob a few rockets aimlessly at Tel-Aviv. Israel is not wiped out as they warned. Gilad Shalit and many more Avenged Today – Egypt is not the Same

Today Israel, in a humanitarian effort to help Hamas residents of Gaza, has aided Ahmed Jabari obtain the coveted of goal of 72 virgins in heaven, a goal Ahmed himself sent so many young Arabs to go seek…. But who is this Ahmed Jabari? A career Hamas terrorist who had formerly been infamous for his 9 lives, he had spent time in prison both in Israel and under Fatah (the Palestinian Authority) for terrorist activities, but always found a way to be freed. Jabari was a key architect of the Hamas takeover of the Gaza Strip from Dahlan’s Fatah security forces, and Hamas has maintained its hold on Gaza under Jabari and Ismail Haniyeh. Jabari was in effect the supreme military and terror commanded as leader of the Hamas military wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. In addition since Hamas is the defacto ruler of the Gaza Strip, he is Prime Minister Haniyeh’s Minister of Defense. Jabari is an extremely shadowy leader, and before Gilad Shalit’s release, it was not publicly certain if he was even alive. General Petraeus – The Obama Factor

It has been amazing to watch the media and the administration in concert twist and mangle the story-line behind the unfortunate General Petraeus scandal to unrecognizable forms. I have watched details slowly emerge and get twisted for days, with the entire mainstream media ignoring the fact that the General resigned two days after the President’s re-election. Two days… it was not only one day in order to attempt to not be overly obvious, but it was a matter that could not even wait weeks. And it is not exactly clear when Petraeus resigned and when Obama accepted the resignation, he may even have resigned the day after the election. When you get fired from a White House Cabinet position, you always “resign”. The president asks you to resign and you do so – statements are coordinated to maintain dignity, you cite personal reasons and the President thanks you for your service and even praises it. It was clear that this was not that kind of resignation. It really was a resignation. Petraeus walked into the White House and resigned, and thanked the President only for accepting his resignation. A Final Case – Can you really Vote for Obama?

The election is here, and after all the ads, rhetoric, pundits and political games, the truth remains, though hidden under the heap. Will you return Obama for a second term? Has he earned it? Is it good for the country? Will he do a better job than Mitt Romney? The answer to these questions is strikingly simple; let’s clear away the heap of campaign promises and jingles, let us look at the facts. No spin, no over-interpretations, plain simple vanilla facts. And then we will add some interpretation. Why not. Mitt Romney Romney’s case is a simple one. Mitt Romney is a fine example of an outstanding American, an accomplished individual, and unlike many accomplished individuals, one with a squeaky clean ethical record. He has not betrayed, lied, taken bribes, broken the law, had sexual scandals or any of the other niceties that plague many modern politicians (that we know of). True, part of the reason he is above some of those temptations is that he himself is wealthy and in less need of other wealthy people’s money. Not a bad thing. For our friends in California who have busy and interesting lives, and better things to do than check for political tricks in fine print, we offer this common sense advice about the ballot they will face tomorrow statewide, and especially in LA County. Many will unfortunately be fooled into Voting for things they would rather not if they understood them well. The propositions are a mine field of sweet sounding proposals with venom in their fine print. Taken from our official Voter Guide, in the California Section: US Senat and House State Senat and Assembly LA Country District Attorney Proposition 30 – NO Proposition 31 – NO Proposition 32 – YES Proposition 33 – YES Proposition 34 – NO Proposition 35 – NO Proposition 36 – ? Obama Logic – Terrorism and Hurricanes

According to this administration, we are to believe that an assault on a US consulate and the murder of a US ambassador along with 3 State Department colleagues in a war-torn region (which the same administration helped to make war-torn) on the anniversary of 9/11, are things that “just happen”, cannot be predicted, avoided or defended against by any executive decision, any amount of security forces and regardless of any warnings, intelligence or policy; but Hurricanes in the East Coast are caused by (the previous administration’s, ie Bush’s) lack of regulations and intrusive laws, excess of liberty, low taxes, and low EPA $8.5 billion dollar budgets. Grotesque. The most glaring defiance of logic (or faith in the intelligence of the voters) is not the absurd game of what a sitting president is responsible for (not the protection of his staff, but the weather), but rather the time game on top of it. Obama IS president… so it is amazing that while he can remain blameless for what happened in Benghazi under his watch, the hurricane (Sandy) under his watch IS apparently a president’s fault, just not his, but the previous one’s.
