Brief followup during Election 2019

Of course, my full shpiel on the election is here. But a couple of points in brief for those on the right who are afraid to not vote Likud, or not vote Moshe Feiglin for coalition politics reasons. First, for those on the right, the choice between the United Right, and Zehut. Normally, we vote for the United Right, but I have to say this time it ought to be different. The United Right is now composed of two sets of people broadly… as it is a union of Bennett’s old party (basically the old NRP, Mafdal), and the Tekuma and Otzma people. The former are people that are excellent decent people, but are quite mainstream in their politics (meaning not quite right wing). Certainly in favor of the business as usual socialism and very Likudnik in their position on land (say you want to give it away but try not to). These are not folks we would usually vote for when thinking of the free market conservative right wing. The second wing of the list, is made up of more truly right wing characters. Gaza – The Big Picture and What Israel Should Do (have done)

Nearing what could be the end, or hopefully simply a lull, of this round of fighting in Gaza, it is important to take a step back, look at the big picture, and see what Israel if anything has achieved in what it should have achieved. Throughout this latest conflict I have published several articles discussing various aspects like Kerry’s intervention and The Tactics and Strategy and The demonstrations and Media. I have also covered, the Obama administration’s position and attempt to pressure Israel, and Israel’s flawed PR efforts. War Against The Tunnels How it Began The Danger of Multiple Rounds of Fighting Next Round Improvements and The Economic Boom The Rockets and The Disengagement The Fallacies of the Air Campaign So What To Do? Gaza Background, What IS Gaza? In this last area specifically, it has been painful to see a massive (relative to its size) international movement of “Pro-Israel” sentiment mobilized largely to no end. Jews and non-Jews alike, around the world flocked to social media to post an endless stream of often creative messages (broadly accurate but not always) whose sum total was “Hamas is mean!”.
