Yom Hazikaron – We Remember Israel’s Heroes

We remember our fallen Warriors of Israel today. We often say that they laid down their lives for us, but we must remember, they laid nothing down, nor would they kneel or run. They lost their lives fighting, charging forward gallantly… fighting for Victory, and for all of Us. Our heroes are too many, thank Gd most of them have lived, fighting like lions the victory they sought achieved. As one of our commanders once famously told his victorious men as they reached the waters of the Suez, “We stared death in the eyes, and it turned its gaze”. But so many, far too many, have paid the ultimate price, bravely, seemingly stoic, and as a matter-of-fact, they fought for Israel, for every Jew around the world, they did their duty. But they did not go gently nor willingly, as our foes well know, not wishing to give up all the beauty of life and the promise of the future while so often still in the flower of youth. I guess the terrorists didn’t get Obama’s message

…That there was no more “War on Terrorism” He has been continuously saved (and not to mention as many lives have) by a very alert and patriotic post 9-11 citizenry from a real devastating terror attack. A bomber on a plane being subdued by passengers in Christmas, Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad’s murderous June Jihad in Little Rock, Major Nasan’s Islamic rampage of carnage in Ft Hood, and now a car bomb, Iraq or Pakistan style, in the heart of NY city. So far, the administration and its allied mass of media elites have struggled feverishly to try to define these events as anything but terrorism (rather than combat them), and they were literally jumping for joy earlier today and yesterday as a video was seen of a “Caucasian” man taking off his shirt near the suspect vehicle. They “celebrated” a bit too soon apparently. The “international” (Obama speak for terrorism) links are beginning to come out. Treason, betrayal, mental illnesses, crime; that they can understand and love. Patriotism and war they cannot and they fear and hate both equally, though one is a virtue, and the other is a terrible price that is often paid to defend life and freedom. [...]

Patriotism over Politics

Republicans press Obama to send more troops to Afghanistan Read more here: The tables have turned, with a Democratic Obama leading (badly) an increasingly unpopular war that is increasingly going badly. Obama has chosen to intensify rather than wind down the 9 year old Afghan conflict and what do Republicans do?? Criticize the US presence in a war they were in favor of starting back then (just like Democrats were for Iraq)??? Scream surrender, withdrawal, pull out, defeat??… which would all make the President look bad, and increase poll points for the Republican party. No. They press the president to do the utmost to protect the troops, and pressure him to win, as opposed to lose which he endorsed for 7 years while the wars were under Bush. They want victory and for the soldiers to all come back alive, both events that if occur, would be credited to the president and give Democrats in general giant boost in popularity. Why then? For the same reasons they are Republicans as opposed to Democrats. They chose patriotism over politics, truth over popularity, individual responsibility over society’s blanket, and the often lonesome, hated and trying path of conservatism over the much easier, [...]
